Caramelized onions are a wonderful ingredient for adding deep flavor to your recipes. The solar oven is an easy, hands off way to let those onions cook down and have the sweetness develop.
Thinly slice two large onions. If you have one, a mandolin is a great tool for the job. Place the sliced onions in your Sport graniteware pot and drizzle one tablespoon of olive oil over the onions. Sprinkle with some kosher salt.
